If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably grown up hearing the phrase, “First impressions are everything.” And while there’s some truth to that, I’m so grateful that Jesus doesn’t hold us to that standard. My Jesus isn’t impressed by perfection. Instead, He’s impressed every time I press the reset button, rededicating myself to Him with a heart full of hope and humility. Every “I’m going to try again, Lord” moment lights up His heart with joy.
Who else offers us this kind of grace? In a world that often feels judgmental and impatient, Jesus stands apart—compassionate, patient, and endlessly encouraging. He’s the friend in our corner who cheers us on when we stumble and celebrates every effort to stand back up.
That’s why I’ve made it my goal to impress Him—not with perfection, but with persistence. My community and I have embraced the challenge of pressing into His presence. And let me tell you, it’s been a life-changing journey.
What Does Pressing Into His Presence Look Like?
It’s not about asking for blessings or material things. It’s about hungering for Him, thirsting for His presence like the psalmist in Psalm 42: “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.”
This year, we’ve committed to seeking greater dimensions of who God is—His love, His kindness, His compassion, and His power. Every day is an opportunity to experience more of Him, and the results have been nothing short of transformative.
Our community is thriving! We’re sharing recipes for our fasts, encouraging one another, and growing together. It’s a beautiful reminder that true transformation happens in a community, just as Jesus modeled. Healing, aspiring, and growing are best achieved when surrounded by others who share our goals and uplift us along the way.
