You know what one of my favorite words is? Overcomer. I love that word because Jesus tells me that He is an overcomer. That means He understands everything I go through—every struggle with anxiety, every moment of despair, every fear that has held me captive.
For years, I battled the terror that stalked me, the overwhelming anxiety that made it hard to even step outside my home. And yet, He knew my pain. He felt it. He carried it. He reminds me, “In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart, Angela, I have overcome the world.”
Doesn’t that just fill you with peace? With hope? With possibility?
He tells us to take heart, to lean in, to trust that He’s got us. And when those moments of anxiety creep in, when fear whispers doubts into my soul, I remember: I have an Overcomer. And He calls me to be an overcomer, too.
So, let me ask you:
- What are you going through right now?
- What do you need to heal from?
- What relationship has you feeling stuck?
- What financial struggle keeps you up at night?
- What disappointment has knocked you down?
You know what that is for you. And I want you to know this: You don’t have to go through it alone.
Jesus is the ultimate Overcomer, and His promise is that you, too, will overcome. When He comes back, He’s looking for those who chose to rise above, who fought through the battles, who leaned on Him when the weight was too much to carry alone.
Even Jesus needed help. Remember when He fell under the weight of the cross, and Simon helped Him carry it to Golgotha? If He needed help, how much more do you and I?
