What kind of a thinker are you?

So, a few months ago I had a carpet salesman come to my home. I was interested in a new look.  I ached for a new feel. New ambiance. A new décor.

Don’t you judge me? I am a woman after all. I take pride in all the ‘feels.’ 😊

It was a new season and I wanted to feel new.

Well over 6 months have passed and this salesman keeps blowing up my phone. Can’t he take a hint, I wondered?

You see, since that time; I did some reflective thinking. And, you know what I discovered? New carpets were not the answer to my itch for something new.

Why?

Because, while his carpets were good quality, with a decent selection, his offer did not meet my need. He came to my home and his only focus was to sell me carpets. But I needed more. However, I didn’t know what I didn’t know at the time.

Then, I met with a home décor consultant. The difference is huge.

The consultant asked about the color of my walls, my curtains, the kind of floors in my home, my personal style, and the kind of home I live in. She even asked for pictures. Then she recommended options based on my answers in a simulated computerized experience to ensure that I would embrace the new look before I made a final decision. Her comprehensive approach to my dilemma was captivating.

She asked quality questions that evoked quality answers which enabled her to customize a solution to scratch my itch for something new.

Can I just tell you how happy I am with my new décor?!

Not only did I buy carpets, but I also bought a new island for my kitchen, new living room and dining furniture and all from the same woman!!

She understood and valued the wisdom of Big Picture Thinking in her role as a professional.  And because she grasped the Big Picture and reflected on the best approach for me, she developed a strategy to ‘wow’ me. Her Strategic thinking skills won her sales of nearly ten thousand ($10,000) dollars in less than 60 days.

So here we are in this new Fall season with me feeling fabulous because of my coordinated floors, curtains, walls, furniture, and overall décor that are tailor-made for me!
