I’ll be honest – I almost didn’t make it here today. I felt lazy, unmotivated. You know that feeling when the weight of your emotions seems to pull you down, and the last thing you want to do is push forward? That was me. But then, I took a hard look at those feelings and said, “Okay, you can stay right over there, but I’ve got work to do.” I had to acknowledge that these emotions were real – they were there, pulling on me. But you know what happened the moment I got up and started moving? My emotions caught up with my actions. I found myself showing up, and suddenly, I was in sync with what I needed to do.
Have you ever felt like that? You’re not alone. These emotions can hijack us if we let them – they’re like little “pimps” of procrastination, inconsistency, and mediocrity, waiting to pervert our promise, potential, profits, and possibilities. Think about it. How often do we let laziness or discouragement hold us back? We all go through it, and when we’re unaware, it’s easy to get ambushed by these feelings.
But here’s the thing: I decided not to let those feelings pin me down today. I put them in their corner and chose to show up for myself. This is my encouragement to you: recognize when these emotions start to “pimp” you out. Name them, call them out, and push through.
So, what’s stopping you right now? What’s keeping you in the cycle of procrastination or inconsistency? We don’t have room for that if we aim to break barriers or break through. Decide today that you won’t let these emotions rob you of what you’re capable of achieving.
